Renting a plot

Plot sizes and rates

We have several plot types available, all are approximate sizes, and vary across the site. Rates are correct as of 15 July 2026, and are reviewed annually by the Parish Council.

  • Full plot. Approx 240sqm, £42pa
  • Half plot. Approx 120sqm, £21pa
  • Quarter plot. Approx 60sqm. Also £21 due to minimum charge.
  • (We do have Third sized plots, but none are currently available)
  • Raised bed, £12pa

We also have raised beds to let for those unable to take on the sizes above or perhaps want to dip their feet into growing their own before commiting to a plot.

Find out more on our raised beds page.

Fees and payments

The Parish Clerk raises all invoices, and instructions for payment are provided on the invoice. Payment is accepted by BACS, or alternatively by cheque.

All plots are subject to a £50 deposit, which is returned at the end of the tenancy if the plot is left in a looked after and letable condition, subject to our site rules.

Tenancy

Our allotment plots are rented on an annual tenancy, renewed annualy on 1st October. Renting a plot gives you space to grow your own produce and the responsibility to keep it cultivated, subject to site rules

Who can rent a plot

Whilst the site is established for the Residents and Parishoners of Bathford, we do welcome potential plotholders from nearby villages, and occaisionally further afield. However, naturally Bathford residents will take priority on the waiting list as we are a Parish owned site.

We try to be transparent about our waiting list, more details can be found on our waiting list page

There must always be a named tenant, but you can feel free to share with family and indeed friends. If you let us know who is sharing your plot, we allow them first refusal of plot if you choose to leave the site, subject to our site rules. You cannot, however, sublet your plot.

How to apply

To be offered a plot you first need to join the waiting list. Instructions can be found our waiting list page
