Accessibility statement

This statement applies to the Bathford Allotments website.

This website is built and maintained by volunteers. It is facilitated by, but not run by, Bathford Parish Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader

We have also tried to make the written content as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We believe most of this website is accessible. However, we know that some parts may not be fully accessible:

  • some documents linked from the Documents page may be PDFs that were not created with accessibility in mind, and may not work well with screen readers
  • some links go to other organisations’ websites, which we do not control

Getting information in an alternative format

If you need information from this website in a different format — such as accessible PDF, large print, easy read, audio recording or braille — contact the Parish Clerk at clerk@bathford.net.

Please tell us:

  • the web address (URL) or the name of the document you need
  • your name and email address
  • the format you need

We will consider your request and get back to you within 10 working days.

Reporting accessibility problems with this website

We are always looking to improve the accessibility of this website. If you find any problems that are not listed on this page, or you think we are not meeting the accessibility requirements, contact the Parish Clerk at clerk@bathford.net.

Please include the web address (URL) of the page and a description of the problem, so we can look into it.

If you are not happy with our response

If you have raised an accessibility problem with us and you are not happy with how we responded, you can raise it with Bathford Parish Council through the Parish Clerk at clerk@bathford.net.

Compliance status

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard. We believe most of this website meets that standard, with the exceptions below.

Known problems

Some PDFs and other documents published on this website do not meet accessibility standards — for example, they may not be marked up so that they can be read by a screen reader.

We plan to replace them with accessible versions, or publish the same information as web pages. In the meantime, you can request the information in an alternative format from the Parish Clerk.

Any new documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.

How this website was built

This website is built using the GOV.UK Design System, which is designed and tested to meet level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2).

How we tested this website

This website was last reviewed for accessibility in July 2026. The review was carried out by the volunteers who maintain the site, using automated testing tools and manual keyboard and screen reader checks. It was not a full external audit.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

We will keep this statement under review, and check new pages and documents for accessibility problems before we publish them. Feedback from people using the site helps us find issues we have missed, so please do tell the Parish Clerk if something does not work for you.
