Proposed amendments and clarifications to the regulations (for AGM vote)

Conditions of use (4) — access of vehicles onto the allotment:

  • i. Vehicles are allowed onto the main central track for delivery and unloading only (vehicles to be removed when unloading is completed).
  • ii. Access of vehicles onto individual plots is prohibited except with the express permission of the Landlord (except for emergency services vehicles).

Conditions of use (3) — subletting and sharing. The Tenant may not subdivide or sublet the use of the plot without the direct written permission of the Landlord.

Sharing a plot: one person must be the tenant, taking full responsibility for the fees, use and condition of the plot. The tenant may not sublet (i.e. charge) to sharers; they can come to whatever exchange of labour or produce they like. The tenant can share the space with friends on the basis that if they (the tenant) leave, anyone sharing has to vacate as well, unless they wish to take on the tenancy. Sharers may apply to take over the tenancy themselves if they have been sharing for at least a year, and if the plot has been kept in good order throughout (this is to prevent people from jumping the queue).

Tool store — the plotholder must (16). Tool store dimensions: people are allowed stores, not sheds. As the regulations have not been followed, but since most tool stores are of modest size, we propose a “tool store amnesty” and an amendment of the regulation size to reflect existing sizes. Maximum dimensions proposed: 6ft by 3’6", and a maximum of 4’6" high.

Mowing paths between plots — the plotholder must (10). Keep paths trimmed and in good order (i.e. level and free from stones or other debris). Primary paths must be 1m (3’3") wide to allow for emergency and/or machinery access, unless specified as secondary, in which case they can be within the range 70cm–1m (2’3"–3’3"). Wardens to determine the appropriate grid of primary paths.

  • Plotholders to the east of the main track mow the south and west paths.
  • Plotholders to the west of the main track mow the south and east paths.
